The Dragon GE500 Network Sensor Appliance from Entrasys Networks is an appliance-based network intrusion detection system (NIDS) which identifies and responds to misuse and attacks across the network. The Dragon Network Sensor is excellent in detecting intrusions via signature, protocol, and anomaly-based techniques when placed at network aggregation points. These multi-method detection techniques, combined with an extensive signature database and false-positive tuning capabilities, ensure that no intrusion goes undetected. Equipped with Active Response features it can terminate sessions and dynamically reconfigure firewalls, switches and routers based on specific alerts, minimizing or preventing damage from attacks. It supports a data transfer rate of 1 Gbps.
