The 16-Port Line Card from Myricom features 8 front-panel fiber ports and 8 backplane sAN ports for interfacing with Myrinet-2000 Switches. Each port of this hot-swappable device offers data transfer rates of up to 4 Gbps (2). The line card incorporates microcontroller functions such as self-test, board identification, voltage and temperature monitoring XBar16 scan path, and status information from the SAN-Fiber conversion circuits. The microcontroller automatically shuts off the line-card power on excessive rise in temperature. It also controls a Status LED on the front panel.
