The 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Line Card from Myricom provides convenient, high-performance interoperability between Myrinet Ethernet emulation and 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet. This card can be used to build high-degree, GbE cluster switches, or switches that can be connected to both Myrinet and GbE hosts. It features 8 front-panel RJ-45 1000Base-T full duplex ports and 8 backplane SAN ports for interfacing with Myrinet-2000 Switches. The Ethernet ports offer up to 2 Gbps (1) data transfer rates while the SAN ports offer data transfer rates of up to 4 Gbps (2). The hot-swappable line card incorporates microcontroller functions such as self-test, board identification, voltage and temperature monitoring, XBar16 scan path, firmware initialization of the Lanai-XM-based Myrinet-GbE conversion circuits and status information from the Myrinet-GbE conversion circuits.
